2020 Barış Eyikan Kılınç Urban Design and Landscape Architecture Student Design Competition Jury Assembled
The XXXIst Barış Eyikan Kılınç Urban Design and Landscape Architecture Student Competition took place online on 26 June 2020.
We are thankful to our jury members İnci Basa, Nilgün Görer Tamer, Yiğit Acar, Gizem Karabay and Rambod Mirbaha for their valuable contributions. You can find their short biographies below.
The results of the competition will be announced in the graduation ceremony on July 10, 2020.
Prof. Dr. İnci BASA - Department of Architecture at Middle East Technical University. She received the B. Arch, M. Arch and Ph.D. degrees from METU. She made post-doctoral studies in HTA-Bern, Switzerland. Her research interests include urban public space, architectural discourse and architecture-language relationship.
Prof. Dr. Nilgün Görer TAMER - Gazi University Department of City and Regional Planning – “Post-graduate Diploma”, Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies, 1989, 54th.ICHPB, Rotterdam-Holland - Bachelor Degree METU, City and Regional Planning 1986; Research interests: Urban planning, basic design, and urban water planning.
Yiğit ACAR - Department of Architecture Faculty of Art Design and Architecture, Bilkent University, Ankara. Degrees earned: PhD. in Architecture, 2017, METU: Atlas of Urban Design: Textual Analysis and Mapping of Production of Knowledge in Turkish Context, advisor; Prof Dr. Güven Arif Sargın, METU, Ankara, 2017. Msc. in Urban Design, 2011 METU: Urban transformation Within the Interface of Design and Administration: The Case of Izmir Harbor District, advisor; Assoc. Prof Dr. Muge Akkar Ercan, Ankara, 2011. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, 2008 METU.
Gizem KARABAY CAN - Urban Designer and Landscape Architect (M.Sc.) She studied Urban Design and Landscape Architecture at Bilkent University, and graduated in 2011. She completed her master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy Design, Politecnico di Milano, Italy. In 2014, she continued to work on urban studies at The Urban Simulation Laboratory “Fausto Curti”. Since 2013, she has been working on various urban design projects at Goland Urban Design as a co-founder. She has also won several awards in national and international design competitions.
Rambod MİRBAHA – He studied urban design and landscape architecture at Bilkent University and graduated in 2016. He is now pursuing Master of Landscape Architecture at Cornell University.
