Abstract: Architect Evren Başbuğ articulated the challenges and potentials of designing public spaces for a metropolis by sea level, based on his experience in the design of public spaces in İzmir between 2010 - 2022. Within these twelve years, Başbuğ has developed a wide range of intensively used architectural settings across the city, exploring unique ways for its inhabitants to experience what it has to offer, as exemplified by outstanding projects such as the Bostanlı Footbridge & Sunset Lounge.
